Bee Lore: The Sacred and Divine Bee

Bees have been connected with a variety of Goddesses since the beginning of recorded time - Aphrodite, the greek Artemis, Bhrameri Devi, Hindu Goddess of black bees,, Demeter, Goddess of the harvest and  Diana. All of these cultures depict images of Goddesses with bees.
Bees are often considered a symbol of the Goddess or Divine Feminine because bees are ruled by a queen, a feminine creature of creation. The goddess Venus is connectecd with flowers as are the bees.
Bees create the divine nectar, honey, also called the nectar of the gods.
In many cultures bees are inter related with the sacred. "The tombs at Mycenae were shaped as beehives, as was the omphalos at Delphi in Classical Greece, where Apollo ruled with his chief oracular priestess, the Pythia, who was called the Delphic Bee." from The Bee Goddess where you can find so much fascinating information about bees.
